fast and furious

Those are the perfect words to sum up how this semester will be {and has already been}.
I'm officially done with week 2 of this 5th and final semester.
15 more weeks to go!!
There have already been 3 tests and my fourth will be Tuesday.
[I should be studying right this minute, but I promise, I will... in just a minute!!]

So far, so good with school!!
I really do want to keep my "A" average in nursing school because for some crazy reason, it matters to me.
The work I put into school is a reflection on how my career of a nurse will start.
I love learning about medical stuff.
I like all the chances I'm getting to practice my new skills.
It's pretty neat that I get to share my experience with 57 other people from all different walks of life, with all different personalities.
and I'm blessed to have a supportive family that is proud to have my back during this {not always easy} journey toward getting my Registered Nurse's degree.

We don't have a lot of stuff, but we have tons and bunches to be thankful for.
And believe me, I have more now than I could have ever deserved.

This is where we get our coffee from now.
A friend of ours opened a coffee kiosk in Irmo, SC named Loveland Coffee, and believe me - it's easy to get spoiled because this is some pretty great coffee!!
My favorite drink is the Ole Espanol.
God has richly blessed Beach and Jessica's sweet family so they could open this business!!
If you're in Irmo, go get some coffee from them!!
Jessica even is on here blogging about their business... LOVELAND COFFEE!!!

That is one of the pages I made in my new smash book my sister in law got me for Christmas.
Being creative is fun for me!!

Here is another darling family that I get to live vicariously through!!

WIDGET

and on facebook

A family of 3 living in Scotland on The Black Isle. Both Elizabeth and Billy {her husband} are starting internet businesses out of their home and they have a beautiful 4 year old daughter, named Kaya.
Elizabeth has an amazing way with words and her pictures make you want to get up and go visit them in Scotland!

Just a week ago, I was wearing these:

This girl can pick up anything in our yard and have fun with it.
Wild imaginations are easy to come by in this household.

I told her to pose and this is what ensued...

One day, while I was getting ready - straightening my hot mess of wavy hair - Hailee got annoyed with waiting on me and just decided to climb in the dryer.

Ok, it's been longer than a minute. I know that!
I'm off to study my brains out...
on reproductive anatomy and physiology, conception and fetal development, and the physical and psychological changes of pregnancy...
SEEING as how I've been there, done that, hopefully this will be a familiar rodeo.
It just gets so dang technical!

Oh, and my first clinical is in 2 weeks -- I will be in the Newborn Nursery first!!
I wouldn't be lying if I told you I'm pretty excited about it!!

....ready      set      go!

and today, for some reason, I cannot get this song out of my head.

  1. Great pictures! Nice to see another non-Starbucks coffee shop in the Midlands part of the state. I get tired of the pretentious attitude at Starbucks and I only go there if there are no other coffee places around.

    1. ha! I haven't been to a starbucks in forever. It's like a status symbol. Sorry, I'm not interested in paying all that money just for a brand name. No thanks.
AND... Loveland Coffee is a small business owner, whom i LOVE supporting!!
Which is what I plan on doing once I get my nursing degree.
      Supporting small businesses.

  2. Thanks so much for mentioning us friend!! :) You can totally come and visit us sometime, how about when your school ends!! I happen to adore nurses, I have several friends who are in the profession and I had GREAT nurses when I gave birth. They were so kind and caring, they were the best part of the experience- minus getting the baby of course!! :)

    Love your photos, so beautiful!!

    1. ohmygosh, Scotland would be a fabulous place to visit. And you get to live there!! I'm excited about being a nurse. It's still a little scary to think that I'm going to be out there, on my own in a few months. And it still seems so very far from all those nurses that REALLY know what they're doing. One day. I have my clinical rotations through Newborn Nursery, Labor and Delivery and Postpartum care coming up these next 2 months. I'm very excited about all that. I had a planned C-Section and never really got to labor. I bet you had a great birth experience!!
